Earlier this month, 200 emerging photographers came to Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse for our first-ever live event with the theme Passion2Profit, a number of them travelling from Queensland, the ACT, Victoria, and even New Zealand. The audience was treated to a wealth of shared wisdom and experience from an amazing line-up of speakers which included Kelly Brown, Peter Coulson, Dan O’Day, and Will Patino.
Our expert Q&A panel of Sally Brownbill, Sean Izzard, Dan O’Day, and David Maurice Smith discussed business survival strategies for emerging photographers, and fielded questions from the audience. Over the coming months, we will be sharing this invaluable content, via video, with subscribers to our fortnightly newsletter.

While the feedback we received was overwhelming positive, there was one complaint noted by a few people – the event simply did not run for long enough! Our apologies. We’ll try harder next time.
The speakers all really shone, openly sharing their insights, experiences, and personal anecdotes with the audience providing them with real-world, tangible advice that could be practically put into practice the very next day.

Planning for next year’s event will commence shortly, and we expect to put all the excellent feedback we received to good use to make the event even better. The event will take place in Sydney in early August 2017. Tickets will go on sale early next year with a special early bird rate. It’s worth noting that photographers entering our Top Emerging Photographers awards will receive a discounted rate for their ticket.
