The Lucie Awards: winners announced

The winners of the 2016 Lucie Awards have been announced in New York, with photographers recognised for achievements in fine art, documentary, photojournalism, sports, and more.

"The gathering of our global photographic community, to honor these outstanding talents, shines a bright light upon these great individuals and has been doing so for the past 14 years. These individuals and institutions are among the best in their fields,” said Lucie's Founder, Hossein Farmani.

The International Photographer of the Year was Marinka Masseus, winning the US$10,000 prize. Her entry, "Under the Same Sun" was created in collaboration with the ‘Josephat Torner Foundation’ to raise awareness about the circumstances of people with albinism living in Tanzania.
