Adobe trials doubling Photography apps subscription

If Adobe felt the brunt of the backlash from the photography community when it introduced the Creative Cloud subscription model all those years ago, it will be interesting to see the reaction to their decision to increase the price of the Photography apps subscription. Recently, it’s doubled from US$9.99 a month to US$19.99.

The plan includes access to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop, along with 1TB of cloud storage, up from 20GB. Whether this increase in data storage is enough of a cherry on top is yet top be seen.

Unless there’s a glitch in the matrix, this price increase does not appear to have filtered over to Australia yet, which I’m sure most will agree is just plain weird. The Photography plan in Australia is still A$14.29. But don’t hold your breath. I’d be stunned if local pricing does not catch up with that of the US soon.

The Australian Photography plan is now priced far more competitively than in the USA.

UPDATE

Our apologies, but it appears we jumped the gun on this story. Adobe is trialling new plans with additional storage. The old plan will still be available.
