Artist's statement
I set out to create this series of portraits to show a merging of the indoors and outdoors of our home; the two spaces that occupied us primarily during this year's enduring COVID lockdown. By incorporating the leafy vegetation and manipulating them into the image along with various fabric textures I had at hand, I sought to create a virtual tapestry to literally and figuratively frame my children within the space in which we dwelled.
Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers is the region's main platform for discovering and showcasing photographers at the outset of their careers and aspiring photographers. The competition is open to emerging, student, and amateur photographers. The prize pool currently stands at over $30,000.
