Born in South Africa, Ty Stedman became enamoured with the natural world from an early age. His enthusiasm for exploration, attention to detail, and education in the sciences, ultimately led to a pursuit of photography – a career he is developing alongside his job as a firefighter. Influenced by minimalist expressions, his primary passion is capturing Australia and New Zealand’s varied landscapes from small aircraft, combing for graphic and geometric forms. In 2018, Stedman was awarded the AIPP WA Commercial Photographer of the Year, IPA Winter Sports Winner, IPA Fine Art: Abstract Runner-up, APA Landscape Finalist (x3), and selected for the LensCulture Emerging Talent Awards. He currently lives in Busselton, WA.
