The Australian Association of Street Photographers Incorporated's (AASPi) annual exhibition, Shot in the Heart of Melbourne, otherwise known as SITHOM, was unable to be held at the Victorian Artists' Society galleries in 2020 due to the restrictions placed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, a decision was made to produce their inaugural photo book: Melbourne Unmasked.

Melbourne Unmasked is a collaboration of dedicated street photographers who observe and capture life on the streets and laneways of Melbourne. This collection of photographs reflects the diversity of AASPi members' work, and the result is a unique view of everyday moments of a city and its people.
