While many pro photographers work with expensive 'serious' cameras that have the ability to blow images up to billboard size, on the complete other end of the camera spectrum is the Fujifilm instax mini 12.

The instax mini 12 is really good fun to use and there is still something very special about an instant print. In fact, I'm looking at a print which was taken today at the Fujifilm store of the Capture team. If this image was taken on my phone or even my Fuji X100F, I'd probably look at it – well... later on for a brief second. Or, it might become buried in the endless stream of other images I take which ultimately reside on a hard drive. And that is the great thing about a instant or polaroid print – it stands out as a tangible object. It can sit on your desk, mantlepiece or fridge door and you are reminded of your friends and family, or your life's interesting moments. So as with other printed work, you end up actually viewing that photo more often and for longer.

The Mini 11 was a runaway success with over 500,000 units sold locally. The updated 12 adds a better 'close up' mode that allows for better framing for seflies and of course - close ups.

One of Fujifilm's credos is: 'A photo is something you take, a print is something you give.'

It's a nice feeling giving your precious one-of-a-kind print to friends. However, sometimes that print is so good - you are reluctant to give that unique print away. The Instax Up! app allows you to scan your prints (with a 'glare removal' feature) and add different backgrounds so you can share it virtually on social media.

The Fujifilm instax mini 12 will be available from April 6th 2023 retailing at $119.00
The new Fujifilm instax UP! app is available now and is free for users.
