Rachel Tan, To be happy. (Travel (2018))
Japan in Spring is a magical place. I captured my favourite photo at Philosopher's Walk as a group of primary school girls played aeroplanes on their way to school. There's one left standing in the back sighing, clearly not a morning person. Looking at it makes me feel so happy and reminds me that the best things in life are free. Another favourite moment was of an elderly grandma piggybacking her grandson because he got too tired to walk. It may be a small gesture, but the self sacrifice and love she had for him moved me. I think he'll always remember that about her. The big cities were spectacular, but in the quietest moments, this country shines.
