Without Water by Isamu Sawa
Isamu Sawa’s Without Water is a series of photographic stills depicting flowers and plants in various states of decay. Inspired by his wife, a florist, he sourced discarded and withered plants and captured them using the photographic technique of focus stacking. Sawa has taken up to 60 images of his plants before combining in post production.
“I’m delighted to be bringing my flowers to Sydney,” Sawa says. “I’ve used my background as a commercial photographer to create artwork that I think is both beautiful and arresting.”
