Along with the British Council, the National Portrait Gallery is hosting a free, virtual program: Capturing a global mood: National Portrait Galleries in conversation.

Join Sandra Bruce (Director, Exhibitions & Collections) and Tara James (Exhibitions Project Coordinator) from the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, in conversation with Magda Keaney (Senior Curator, Photographs) and Denise Vogelsang (Head of Communications) from the National Portrait Gallery, London.

The main topic will focus on the power of the photograph and how the exhibitions Hold Still/Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize (NPG, London) and Living Memory: National Photographic Portrait Prize (NPG, Australia) reflect each nation’s identity and our shared human experiences at this unique point in history.

Sydney: The Ocean Photographer of the Year Award, run by London based Oceanographic Magazine is in its 4th year and has quickly achieved recognition amongst photographers around the world.

Albury: The National Photography Prize offers a $30,000 acquisitive prize, the $5000 John and Margaret Baker Fellowship for an emerging practitioner, and further supports a number of artists through focused acquisitions.
