Kristyn Taylor is a Sydney-based ceramic artist, a passionate adventure traveller, and an amateur photographer. She studied Zoology with an honours thesis on animal behaviour and has also spent many years oil painting. All of these endeavours have shaped how she sees the world and have greatly influenced her photographic work. An intrepid traveller, joining photo safaris soon gave way to travelling solo, slowly through more remote locations with a local guide. In this manner, Taylor is able to spend time and give something of herself in return for the incredible hospitality and kindness she invariably encounters. She has had images featured in both the National Geographic ‘Daily Dozen’ and National Geographic ‘Assignment’. Her images have also won her a place on an expedition to Antarctica.
She was a runner-up in the category in 2018.
Category prize: BenQ SW240 monitor valued at $650, plus $500.
