Sony Alpha Awards 2021 finalists announced

Finalists for the 2021 Sony Alpha Awards have recently been announced across 12 categories. The sixth time competition has been run, it recognises Australian and New Zealand photographers whose work has been captured on Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.

This year, over 4,900 images were submitted by professional and amateur photographers across Australasia. A prize pool worth over $37,000 of Sony camera gear is up for grabs, with each category winner receiving $2,000 worth of Sony gear and the Grand Prize winner taking away $10,000 worth of Sony camera gear.

The shortlisted entries were selected by a panel of 24 judges, while the Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the finalists by Scott Gray, CEO of the World Photography Organisation. Photographs of the category winners will be featured in an out-of-home advertising campaign across billboards, signage, and point-of-sale across Australia.

The winners will be announced on 22 July.
