Shuran Yang’s entry in Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers 2019, Culture Comparison, is a featured portfolio, and appears in the Student category.
“When I first immigrated to Australia I felt excited and sometimes confused by the cultural differences that I found everywhere here,” Yang says. “Wanting to explore this, I have created a still-life series that is a cultural comparison between Australia and China. Using different cultural icons and items that represent these two countries has allowed me to create humorous juxtapositions that represent my experiences here, as a Chinese girl living in Australia.”
Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers is the region's main platform for discovering and showcasing photographers at the outset of their careers.
Entries are now open, with early-bird pricing available.
