Nikon 800mm f/6.3 VR S lens in development

Nikon Z users will be thrilled to learn that the company is developing a super-telephoto prime lens for the Nikon Z mount system – the NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S.

The lens will be the first for Z-mount cameras that adopts a PF (Phase Fresnel) lens which results in a compact and lightweight design making it considerably more portable. Lens design for the 800mm f/6.3 VR S also sees colour bleeding significantly reduced.

The lens is geared at photographers from amateurs to professionals and will suit a variety of uses in the field, from nature to sport to wildlife.
